The Expository Organizers of CA

 

The EOs of CA are listed elsewhere in this brochure as the 'principles of CA.'  They invite and guide you to become a CA Ecologist; a dignified, independent person who is master of your own fate and proudly determined to figure out, in concert with others in your community, how to farm profitably and sustainably; how to support your family and to minimize the impact of your life and actions on planetary processes such as global warming.

 

Our Academy offers you an opportunity to convert the knowledge you already have and the continuous learning you will do by 'doing CA', into formal qualifications. Because fundamentally life is learning, we believe that farmers doing applied CA research and extension agents who facilitate this kind of learning as a social process, should be given the opportunity to earn formal, nationally recognized qualifications just as they would were they to go to school to study for a senior (matric) certificate or to college to obtain a diploma or a degree in a 'conventional' subject.

 

Instead of getting an ad hoc, certificate of completion designed in PhotoShop and printed on a local printer by the trainer who gave the course or conducted the project workshop Farmer Field School that you may have attended, our Academy's learning, assessment, auditing and qualifications framework for CA Ecologists, leads to 3 kinds of qualifications that are mapped to the standards, requirements and procedures of NQFs as administered and monitored by NQAs.  (The NQF/NQA 'movement' is a globally standardized; equivalence-conferring phenomenon and framework to achieve transparent parity of quality and status between qualifications essential to national economic progress.)
